The Story Behind
It all started 4 years ago when I started designing. It was a dream of mine to start a design studio of my own. In 2024, that dream became reality with the launch of RKSH DESIGN, which comes from my name, Rakesh. It was my dream to help people experience better-designed products in life. Either it is a logo or a packaging of a product.
Initially, I began with a simple logo. However, as the brand grew, the need for a cohesive brand identity became clear. This prompted the development of a new, comprehensive visual system for RKSH DESIGN.
Mood Board & Vibes
Everything started with mood boarding and ideation. We sourced ideas from Pinterest, Dribbble, & Behance. We mostly focused on something that is futuristic and modern. We wanted to use the black and orange combo in our logo; that's why you can see lots of orange in the mood board.
Sketching on Paper
After moodboarding, we started sketching ideas on paper. While drawing with pen & paper, the ideas start to flow naturally. I sketched almost 30+ ideas and compositions; finally, this concept made the cut.
The Art Direction
We wanted a minimal, futuristic, & flowing visual identity system. With the sketched logo, we wanted to create a cohesive logo system for every need. We wanted to make the brand feel happening & colorful with a bit of professionalism.
The Brand Icon: ATOM
We wanted a prominent icon for our brand/studio. The whole logo system would revolve around the icon. We got a minimal icon through the sketching process. Then we converted it into vector form and named it "ATOM"
We have crafted a set of wordmarks with the icon "Atom" to create a cohesive branding system. Each of the wordmark variations is made to be used in different cases.
Badge Logo
We also have created a badge logo in a different style still resembling the original style of the brand. This badge logo will complete the whole logo system and create more opportunities to promote our brand/studio.
Colors & Typography
We wanted to archive a harmonic set of colors for our brand, which are vivid and evoke various emotions. After countless variations, we finalized this color palette. Which goes great with our brand's style.
For the typography part, we went with a variable sans-serif font named Bricolage Grotesque. This variable font makes it easy to work with various spaces and designs. It's clean and modern, which we wanted to achieve with our brand's typography.
Brand in Action
We have crafted a curated collection of mockups to demonstrate how the branding would appear in real-world applications.
